Marta Arroyo graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara, where she majored in Spanish Literature. She taught in the elementary grades for more than 30 years, primarily in the Carlsbad Unified School District in San Diego County. Since her retirement she has self-published two bilingual children’s books, La Fiesta y el Mariachi (2007) and The Story of Señora Tamales (2010). Jorge and the Lost Cookie Jar (in English) and Jorge y el Jarro de Galletas Perdido (in Spanish) are her first two books with Dayton Publishing. Marta lives in Oceanside, California, with her husband, Juan. Her passion is playing games with her grandchildren, and she also volunteers at their schools. Marta is available to read in local classrooms and libraries.
